Marion County Park District

If you'd like to donate...

Naturally wild, naturally fun!

The Marion County Park District has used about $750,000 in grants, in kind donations, and local matching funds to purchase the land for a rail-trail, build a trailhead building, pave a parking lot, and begin to develop the first mile. In 2011 we anticipate needing an additional $155,000 in local matching funds, and we also need to set aside funds for future maintenance of the trail.

There are several ways that you can help:

1) Make a tax-deductable donation to the Prairie Parks Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)3 foundation set up to receive tax-deductible donations to help the Marion County Parks. Donations can be designated for specific uses. For more information, contact Karen Kelley at (740)-223-4161, or mail your donation to
