Marion County Park District

Greenspur, located on St. Rt. 203 2 1/2 miles north of Prospect, is a seven acre wooded area. It is on the spur line from the old Interurban line to the old power plant along the Scioto River. It is largely second-growth woodland.

This land was donated to the park district by former Marion County Commissioner John Watkins.

Plans are being drawn up for nature trails and a perimeter walk path around the park and up to Newmans-Cardington Road which will eventually have a sidewalk. We may build a small shelter at this location.

A small pond on the property will be developed as a wetland.

We hope that this park will eventually be the northern terminus of the C, D, & M rail-trail, which will come north from Delaware, Ohio.
